With tenderness, we give our hearts this month to others in part because of Valentine’s Day; partly because it is Heart Health Month. We send cards, candy, flowers and demonstrate expressions of kindness as a Valentine’s Day expression. We are reminded through various media advertisements how important diet and exercise are if we want to keep our hearts healthy.
It may be impossible to love ourselves and others unconditionally. It may be risky and pointless as well to try to understand the humanness of one another. Yet, our whispering heart, if we listen to its quiet, pulsating, rhythmic beats calls us to “Give it a try.”
We may choose to call ourselves heart whisperers this month; but if we are truly the transmitters of heart health and healing, do we package our heart showing affection to those near and dear to us? What about other people unlike us (or perhaps just like us only we do not recognize ourselves in others)?
In light of what our global community is enduring…the pointless suffering, the inhumanity to men, women and children across every gender, creed, ethnicity, and religion…is it really impossible, is it really risky, is it really pointless to cast our differences aside and notice our similarities? I think not.
If we are heart whisperers, then all we have to do is “give it a try.” Hear your heart whisper…listen to its love beating and send whispers of kind-heartedness to all with whom you come into contact…everyday…not just for the month of February.
